Welcome to AstroSilicon. To foster a respectful and constructive community, all members are required to adhere to the following rules and guidelines. Participation in this forum constitutes acceptance of these terms. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the forum.

The AstroSilicon forum is a modern day platonic academy. An open source centre of leaning and exploration for all people of all fields of knowledge. Science, mathematics, politics, literature, psychology & sociology, economics, history, all and much more are welcome.

If you are unsure what to post here are some suggestions:
  • Questions you need help solving.
  • Theories you have created.
  • Discussions around recent and past events.
  • Useful learning resources you or other people have created.

Rules and Guidelines​

1. Respectful Conduct​

- All interactions should be conducted with mutual respect and courtesy. Personal attacks, harassment, and derogatory comments will not be tolerated.
- Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other personal characteristics is strictly prohibited.
- Debate and discussion are encouraged, but participants must remain respectful at all times.

2. No Spamming or Unauthorized Promotion​

- Posting spam, including irrelevant, repetitive, or unsolicited promotional content, is not permitted.
- Unauthorized promotion is recognised as the posting of material designed to gain financial benefit such as investment funding.
- The promotion of online courses is strictly forbidden on all forums.
- The posting of affiliate marketing links are forbidden on all forums.

3. Relevance to Topic​

- Posts must be relevant to the discussion area in which they are posted. Off-topic content should be placed in designated areas (e.g., "Off-Topic" sections, where applicable).
- Avoid derailing ongoing discussions with unrelated material.

4. Prohibition of Inappropriate Content​

- Do not post or link to illegal, explicit, or inappropriate content, including but not limited to material of a pornographic, violent, or hate-driven nature.
- Sensitive topics, such as political or religious discussions, must be approached with caution and in accordance with all other forum rules.

5. No Trolling or Provocative Behavior​

- Posts intended to provoke, insult, or incite conflict among members are not permitted.
- Deliberately engaging in behavior that escalates conflicts or causes disruptions will not be tolerated.

6. Privacy and Confidentiality​

- Members are not permitted to share the personal information of others without explicit consent. This includes, but is not limited to, real names, addresses, or private communications.
- We also encourage members to safeguard their own privacy by not disclosing sensitive personal information on the forum.

7. Appropriate Language and Communication​

- The use of offensive or profane language is discouraged. Posts should maintain a professional tone suitable for all audiences.
- Clear, concise communication is expected. Avoid the excessive use of capital letters, punctuation marks, or other disruptive text formatting.

8. Compliance with Legal Standards​

- All content and activities on the forum must comply with applicable laws. Any content promoting illegal activities or infringing on intellectual property rights is strictly prohibited.
- Discussions of piracy, hacking, or any other illegal activities will result in immediate suspension or removal from the forum.

9. Moderation and Enforcement​

- Forum moderators are authorized to edit, move, or remove any content they deem inappropriate or in violation of the forum's rules.
- If members disagree with a moderator's decision, they should address the issue privately and respectfully. Public challenges to moderation decisions will not be entertained.
- Controversial moderation decisions can be decided or repealed through a democratic vote via using the polling function in the suggestions tab. A minimum of 50 total votes must be submitted before the moderation team will consider making an action.

10. Reporting Violations

- Members are encouraged to report any content or behavior that violates forum rules by using the "Report" function. Members should not attempt to resolve issues by engaging with the offender directly.

11. One Account Policy

- Each member is permitted only one account. The creation of multiple accounts, particularly to circumvent bans or forum rules, is prohibited and may result in permanent removal from the forum.


Consequences of Violations

Non-compliance with any of the rules outlined herein may result in actions including, but not limited to, warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent banning, depending on the nature and frequency of the violations.

Amendments to Rules

The forum rules are subject to periodic revision. Members will be notified of any significant updates. Continued participation in the forum implies acceptance of any modified terms.
